About The CCW Classes

Class starts at 11 AM on both Saturday and Sunday and will go until 2 PM.

No, you are only required to attend one day.

The class is 3 hours long.

Yes you may bring snacks, food and drink(non alcoholic) into class.  Please keep in mind there are no tables to set plates on.

No, in fact we will cover what to look for when choosing a gun for concealed carry.

At the end of class you will get a Certificate certifying that you have taken the course.  You will take this certificate and a copy of it to your local sheriffs dept.  Fill out their application, pay them the application fee (usually around $100) Give them the copy of your certificate and show them the original.  They will take your picture and your finger prints.  It generally takes about 4-6 weeks to receive your permit.

No shooting is required, if you are new to shooting, handling a gun or can’t shoot a fist sized group at 10 yards then we have a special 2 part class that includes range time where you will learn how to SAFELY load/unload your gun, the basics of how to properly shoot your gun and hit your target in a fist sized group, and how to draw and shoot from the holster.  Please contact us for more information paul@effectiveft.com.

We have a conceal carry class especially for new shooters.  This is a 2 part class.  1st part is this class at the tanner gun show.  2nd part will be scheduled range time where we will teach you how to SAFELY load/unload your gun, the basics of how to properly shoot your gun and hit your target in a fist sized group and how to draw and shoot from the holster. We do not do any role playing in this class.

We encourage spouses, significant others, teenage kids to attend with the conceal carrier.  This way everyone hears the same information and learns how to help each other stay safe and out of legal trouble.  They can attend for free, they will not get a certificate.
